“Since finishing my sessions I feel more relaxed, focused and happier both at work and in my personal life.”

Wendy, Paramedic, Surrey

Over the last six months, Wendy had felt increasing anxious, agitated and unable to switch off. She had previously managed her anxiety attacks with breathing and grounding exercises, but as they became more common, they started to impact on every aspect of her life.

Wendy said:

“As an experienced paramedic I thought I knew how to protect my mental health and wellbeing. Normally I’m a very confident person but I found myself needing constant reassurance and I was always fatigued due to my inability to “switch off”. I also often felt agitated, angry and irritable too because I wasn’t able to concentrate on anything.”

After hearing about TASC through her employer’s Wellbeing Hub, Wendy decided to contact us to see if we could provide her with techniques and strategies to reduce or manage her anxiety. After assessing Wendy’s case, our in-house counsellor felt that she would benefit from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and referred Wendy to one of our partners for six sessions of support.

Talking about her therapy, Wendy said:

“The counsellor was brilliant, they listened to me and helped me sort issues out that I hadn’t even considered were triggering my anxiety. Even by my third session I had a greater understanding of mental health and had changed my perspective on a number of issues.

Since finishing my sessions I feel more relaxed, focused and happier both at work and in my personal life. Thank you TASC for the funding this great service, I really appreciate the support!”
