“I’ve been back at work for two months and I’m feeling much more resilient since I came to TASC. I’m so happy to be back doing the job I enjoy. TASC’s support was wonderful, I don’t want to think where I would be right now if they weren’t there.”

Sophie’s Team Leader suggested she contact TASC when she was off sick due to her mental health. TASC arranged for Sophie to have Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with a counsellor and our in-house counsellor also gave Sophie a number of techniques to help her when she was struggling. Here’s Sophie’s story:

“I’ve been in the service for almost 30 years and ongoing issues at work had left me feeling really stressed and anxious which resulted in me being off work for quite some time. I was having trouble sleeping and constantly feeling very low. I wanted to shut myself away from the world and not talk to anyone.

I had heard of TASC before, but it was my Team Leader who suggested I contact them for help. I didn’t have anything to lose so I gave TASC a call. The team were really helpful and I very quickly had a call with their in-house counsellor who gave me a number of useful techniques for when I was feeling really down. It felt great to speak to people who understood what I was going through.

TASC also arranged for me to have six sessions of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with a counsellor called Cherrelle. My sessions with Cherrelle were fantastic. Talking through my problems helped me see everything in a new light. It felt like I had flipped a switch and I felt so much more positive about things, to such a point that after just three sessions I decided I didn’t need any more support.

It’s been three months since my last session and I’m feeling really good. I’ve been back at work for two months and I’m feeling much more resilient since I came to TASC. I’m so happy to be back doing the job I enjoy. TASC’s support was wonderful, I don’t want to think where I would be right now if they weren’t there.”
