On 21 Sept 2018, The Pen y Bryn Golf Society held its first charity day in support of TASC The Ambulance Staff Charity, kindly sponsored by North Wales Audi.

36 players braved the elements at Abergele Golf club. Even strong winds and the occasional heavy shower were not enough to dampen the enthusiasm of the golfers!

Prize presentations were held after a meal at the Pen y Bryn at Colwyn Bay. First place went to Wayne Harris and second to North Wales Audi’s own Colin Jones. Sam Hunter was a close third place.  The longest drive and nearest the pin were also taken by Wayne and Colin. Prizes were also awarded to the first and second place teams. Well done to all.

In the evening, a charity auction was held with the help of our Auctioneer, Steve Ford, from Pembroke House Nursing Home, raising a fantastic £425.

Thanks to the main sponsorship by North Wales Audi, the generosity of players, and the Pen y Bryn, a grand total of £1,600 was raised on the day for TASC.

Peter Jones, Service Manager at North Wales Audi, said:

“It was a great day and North Wales Audi are pleased to say that the staff who participated really enjoyed it whilst raising money for a good cause.”

Mik Webb, TASC Trustee and the organiser of the event, added:

“Thank you to all the players, to North Wales Audi for their sponsorship, and to the many other supporters on the day. The purpose of TASC is to make a difference to Ambulance staff and their families in times of need and I am delighted to have been able to help this great cause.”
