The National Ambulance Memorial Service is taking place on the 19th September 2024 at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.

The one-of-a-kind national service has been running for over 20 years to pay tribute to the lifesaving workers of our UK ambulance services who are no longer with us, including England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Guernsey, Jersey, Gibraltar, and the Isle of Man.

Since its creation, the National Ambulance Memorial Service has gone from strength to strength, and last year 200 people from all over the UK, and even further afield, attended to honour their colleagues and loved ones who have served in an ambulance service. Included in the list of attendees were senior representatives of ambulance services, the Association of Ambulance Chief Executives (AACE), the Independent Ambulance Association (IAA) and the College of Paramedics.

The 2024 memorial service is once again being held at the National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas, Staffordshire on the 19th September 2024. The event is open to anyone who would like to attend and pay tribute. To learn more about this years’ service and book your free place, visit www.theasc.org.uk/NAMS

Gordon Enstone, TASC’s interim Chair, said:

“TASC is extremely proud to yet again organise and host the National Ambulance Memorial Service. Each year we see more people attending the Memorial Service to pay their respects, and to remember family, friends and colleagues who are sadly no longer with us. We look forward to welcoming those of you who are able to attend this year.”

Anna Parry, Managing Director at the Association of Ambulance Chief Executives, is proud to be the principle sponsor of the National Ambulance Memorial Service again in 2024:

“Dedicating a day to remembering our ambulance service colleagues and friends who are no longer with us and sharing that with their families and loved ones is of great importance. AACE is very privileged to be in a position to support the national ambulance memorial service and we hope everyone who wants to attend and pay their respects is able to join us on 19 September.”

The National Ambulance Memorial Service will begin with an indoor service in the Aspects Building before attendees walk down in a procession to the ambulance memorial garden where a Roll of Honour will be read out for ambulance staff and volunteers who have passed away since the last service.

The Roll of Honour is currently hosted on TASC’s website where colleagues, friends and loved ones can post tributes and photos of those who have passed away. TASC’s Roll of Honour is available to view here: www.theasc.org.uk/roll-of-honour

The National Ambulance Memorial Service was first launched in 2004 by The Ambulance Services Benevolent Fund, which became TASC, The Ambulance Staff Charity in 2015. TASC is the national charity dedicated to supporting the mental, physical and financial wellbeing of the UK’s ambulance community including serving and retired staff, student paramedics and ambulance service volunteers.
