Volunteer For Us
We are currently looking for volunteers to help spread the word about TASC The Ambulance Staff Charity and the work we do to support ambulance staff and their families in their time of need. Roles include:
- TASC Representative - promoting awareness, distributing literature, putting up posters
- TASC Fundraiser - securing sponsors for an event or challenge, supporting fundraising activities in your local area
- TASC Champion - a 'team leader', helping to promote awareness, encouraging supporters, recruiting volunteers, coordinating events
Here's what Andrew Farrar, Community First Responder, has to say about being a TASC Volunteer:“My motivation to volunteer for TASC is to promote mental well-being within the ambulance service, who society expects to turn up, cope with and absorb the trauma of others. By promoting the work of TASC I hope that it can be OK to say ‘I am not OK’ among colleagues and there is also acknowledgement that even heroes need support sometimes!”.
As part of Volunteers’ Week 2018 (1 – 7 June), the TASC team will be undertaking an epic road trip visiting as many ambulance staff as they can to say thank you to our wonderful volunteers and hopefully to encourage more people to get involved. We will be calling in at stations, bases, fleet services, PTS hubs and Trust HQs in an attempt to reach those who don’t yet know about TASC and the work we do supporting colleagues within the ambulance services.
