Tributes

From Keith Garrow

My father always dreamed of working for the Scottish Ambulance Service, but despite all he attained through his career, his greatest achievement was the admiration of those he worked with. A man of integrity, professionalism and trustworthiness it was his advice and guidance that shaped me into the paramedic that I became. It was always a proud moment when all who knew and worked with him would refer to him as a true Gentleman.

From James Carr

Norman was well respected by everyone, as a manager he was firm but fair, (In other words, if you did something wrong, he treated everyone the same, if he liked you or not) he was someone who would take time to listen if required and always gave a balanced answer.
All who worked with him, will remember his enthusiasm, work ethic and mannerisms probably sums up the man.
The ambulance service was a better place with his presence.

From Lorraine Garrow

I work as a Senior Charge Nurse in NHS Scotland acute hospitals. My Father-in-law and I had many conversations about the professional challenges I faced. His advice was invaluable and I always appreciated his professionalism and integrity. He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word and his knowledge, guidance and advice with be sorely missed by all how knew him.

From Janice McKinlay

A wonderful caring man and someone I called a dear friend. Will be sadly missed, but forever in my thoughts.

From Gerry Anderson

Norman was a gentleman who always treated everyone with respect. I was at court with him over two days and when we were finished there I invited him to my home for a cuppa, he is the only officer to ever be allowed over my door, I didn’t allow any other officer even when they requested visits when I was injured. That’s how much I respected and liked Norman
