“TASC’s support is very personalised and they really understand what it’s like being part of the UK’s ambulance services and the issues we face.”

When she felt like she had nowhere else to turn, Lisa came to TASC for help with her mental health, and we arranged for her to have sessions with our in-house counsellor. Here’s Lisa’s story:

“I’ve struggled with my mental health and complex PTSD symptoms for a long time. Over the years, I’ve tried to get help from lots of different places, but I was frequently turned away or given some very basic techniques and told to ‘get on with it’. I was desperate and at my wits end.

I first heard about TASC at a conference a while ago, so I gave them a call to see if they could help. After talking to the team, they decided I should have sessions with their in-house counsellor, David. David was amazing; he wasn’t pushy and worked really hard to tailor my sessions to my needs and find things that would work for me.

TASC’s support is very personalised and they really understand what it’s like being part of the UK’s ambulance services and the issues we face. I felt like I didn’t have to explain everything because they already understood.

I’m still not of out the woods, but things are better than before I came to TASC. I now know what works for me and also have lots of things to try when I’m feeling low.”
