At TASC we’re already starting to see the long-term impacts of the pandemic on the people we support. The ambulance services remain under huge pressure and as restrictions have lifted, the numbers of call outs for ambulances have increased and this is placing increased stresses and strains on the people we support.

The impacts of the pandemic are going to be with us for some time, and we at TASC are working hard to understand how we need to respond. This will involve us continuing to develop the range of support we provide and the way that we provide that support.

The last year has proved that sometimes the best-laid plans have to change, and for 2021/22 our main focus is on supporting our service users and we will continue to work to increase access to our services and the range and depth of those services to respond to the enormous need for support.

There are challenges ahead to meet this growing demand from one of our most precious emergency services. If you would like to help us to continue providing our vital services to the people in our ambulance community, you can get involved by:

Finally, we would like to thank every single member of the UK’s ambulance community for their commitment and sacrifices over the last year. The ambulance sector has lost friends and colleagues to the Coronavirus during this time and our thoughts are with each one and their families.
