In November 2022, TASC launched the Ambulance Staff Crisis Line, funded by AACE, with the aim of reducing deaths by suicide in the ambulance service.

The service provides 24/7 support via a dedicated phoneline staffed by experienced counsellors who understand the unique challenges of the ambulance service. It offers immediate stabilisation to ensure any caller is kept safe, followed by a programme of structured support. This combined approach is unique and, to date, has helped over 1,000 ambulance staff during times of personal crisis.

The service proved its value quickly. In November 2023, The Fire Fighters Charity, supported by TASC’s trading company, TASC Wellbeing Ltd, launched the Fire Fighters Crisis Line.

Since then, TASC Wellbeing Ltd has worked with Oscar Kilo, The National Police Wellbeing Service, to run a proof-of-concept project in a small number of police constabularies to test the model in policing.

Following the project’s success, Oscar Kilo launched the England and Wales-wide Police Crisis Line on 21 July 2025, again with the support of TASC Wellbeing Ltd.

TASC is proud that an idea it developed, with support from AACE, has now led to the creation of 24/7 crisis support for the ambulance, fire, and police services — helping to save lives in some of the UK’s most vital and high-pressure roles.
