TASC The Ambulance Staff Charity has taken delivery of its first vehicles in order to both help promote the charity across the country and transport items to events.
The three new vehicles, which all carry the name of TASC on the side, front and rear, are the result of Government funding which arose from the Libor Funding initiative.
Jean Hayes, Director of Charity Operations at TASC, said: “We are delighted to have taken ownership of our first three branded vans that will be out on the roads helping us transport materials to events across the country and promoting the charity as we’re out and about.
“We owe a huge thanks to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport for the very welcome funding that has enabled us to purchase these vehicles. And we are equally grateful to Van Monkey for both supplying the vans and arranging everything else.
“They will enable us to promote TASC and raise awareness of what the charity does by visiting ambulance hubs across the UK as well as events such as county shows, rescue days, and sporting occasions. The vehicles will help us improve our engagement, not only with the ambulance community but also the public who may wish to support TASC.”
The vans, comprising two Fiat Talentos and one Fiat Doblo, were supplied by commercial vehicle specialists Van Monkey, based in Kingswinford, near Dudley, who then arranged for the internal racking and accessories by Redditch-based The Van Hubb.
Van Monkey, which has been operating for three years, also coordinated signage on the three vehicles, jointly carried out by Inktree and The Vinyl Guys, as well as arranging storage near TASC’s headquarters in Coventry through Guest Truck & Vans. Insurance of the vehicles has been obtained through Jobson James insurance brokers.

The new vehicles form one of the three main strands which TASC submitted to Whitehall under the Libor Funding initiative. TASC set out its aims for a concerted three-year drive to develop and promote its services, as well as expand its support base. The remaining two strands were to establish Post Traumatic Stress Disorder rehabilitation services, and achieve a sustainable income from supporters in the ambulance services and their families.
