TASC are celebrating their 5th birthday this month.  We are looking back at the last 5 years and feel a sense of achievement at the difference our services have made to the lives of so many Ambulance staff during their time of need. We could not have done this without your support.

The impact our supporters have had on our work with the Ambulance community has grown year on year resulting in TASC delivering much needed services to more people.  Together we have achieved some great outcomes for the UK’s lifesavers, and we are only just beginning.

Like many, TASC had to put our plans on hold in February as the impact of the Coronavirus became apparent and we needed to adapt quickly to ensure we could continue supporting ambulance staff during this vital time. We are proud to say that during the outbreak, we have continued to provide almost all our services and even launched a few new ones. We are also putting plans in place to extend and deepen the support to ambulance staff as we move forwards in this ever-changing environment.

As these are very unprecedented times, we are having to celebrate our birthday in a different way.  We were delighted to be joined by Carrie Jahn from Barchester Healthcare and staff from one of their local care homes, Harper Fields.

We want to thank the wonderful staff (General Manager, Hayley Wilkinson, Head Chef, Marcin Stepisiewicz, Activities Co-ordinator, Susan McIntosh, Administration Manager, Zakkiya Khan and Maintenance assistant, Wayne Field)  at Harper Fields who brought handmade cupcakes and a beautifully decorated birthday cake for TASC.

Carrie Jahn Customer Relationship Manager for Barchester healthcare said;

“As a healthcare company who runs care homes and hospitals, we are acutely aware of the incredible dedication that our ambulance teams give in supporting our residents.  During recent months of COVID 19 we have been so thankful for the ambulance teams loyalty and service to us all, we wanted to find a way of thanking the front line and back office support teams and the Ambulance Staff Charity (TASC) seemed the perfect way of recognising their service and showing our appreciation.  TASC is an incredible charity, I was unaware of the organisation until recently and hearing how they support their staff made us passionate to help in any way we can.  The team at Harper Fields care home in Balsall Common decided to demonstrate their thanks by making a 5th anniversary Birthday cake for the charity, they also donated 100 homemade cupcakes and reusable water bottles for the ambulance teams.  Following Harper Fields visit to TASC’s head office in Coventry other Barchester care homes are following the initiative and organising similar visits armed with goodies and cakes to their local ambulance trust centres across the UK.”

Karl Demian, TASC’s CEO said:

“It was wonderful that Barchester Healthcare and all the staff at Harper Fields for making a special effort to visit us during our 5th Birthday month.  This has been a very challenging year for TASC and for the ambulance community who have been in the frontline of the country’s response to Covid-19. We have come a long way in the last 5 years and to be recognised by Barchester and their team, who have also been in the frontline against Covid-19, is so important to us and to the community we support as we look forward to our next five years.  Whilst we have achieved so much this has only been possible with the support of partners, friends like Barchester Healthcare and others for the next 5 years and beyond.”

During these uncertain times we are so grateful for all the support and generosity shown to Ambulance staff.   We look forward to growing and strengthening our partnership with Barchester Healthcare in the future and want to thank all the residents of their care homes for the lovely thank you messages to dedicated Ambulance Staff.
