This month marks three years since the Ambulance Staff Crisis Phoneline first went live in November 2022.
Since its launch, this vital service has supported 1500 ambulance staff in crisis, this represents c2.2% of the UK’s NHS ambulance staff — people from a wide range of roles across the ambulance service, many experiencing current and persistent suicidal thoughts.
TASC CEO Karl Demian said:
“This is the achievement I am most proud of. Since the phoneline launched, it has supported nearly 1500 ambulance staff in crisis. Lives have been saved, lives have been changed.”
The phoneline was officially launched at The Royal Foundation Mental Health Symposium at Silverstone Racing Track in 2022. Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone who played a part in making this possible, including David Snelders, Angie Crashley, and all those who have continued to champion and support the service.
Together, we’ve made a life-saving difference.
